			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I&#8217;ve been spinning around the subject of &#8216;failure&#8217; all week. It all started for me when a began listening to an audio book, &#8216;The Success Principals.&#8221; The idea of principles of success are pretty awesome. There are books lining my bookshelves on the topic. Deep within the success we see expressed in the world are sparks of &#8216;failure.&#8217;  In fact dictionary.com says, failure is &#8216;a lack of success.&#8217; Okay, that&#8217;s one way to avoid the topic. In all my experience with the law of attraction and visualizing what I want, there is little talk of &#8216;failure.&#8217; But, something took me down the road to a place I coin, &#8216;The Flair of Failure.&#8217; Here&#8217;s the beauty in FF,( flair of failure).  It&#8217;s a sort of unwritten and unspoken about part of succeeding. Indeed, there are many very successful people, myself included, who have failed many times&#8230; everything from starting a business to relationships. I share this, for all the doubting that comes up&#8230;and it does for all of us. The times when we feel like giving up. Hanging up the towel, so to speak. It is vital to our expansion and growth that we reflect on the parts of our plan that did work. Or the valuable lessons we learned in the process of placing into action our ideas or plans.</p>
<p>There is a quality within each of us, that can pick us up and take us to places greater than we ever imagined. I call it the willingness factor. The willingness to do it again and again and again. Some people have a high level of willingness, while other have very little. What is the difference? Is it something we learn from others? Or are we born with it? Can we build it up for ourselves? And in learning, the power of willing action, can we impart it to others, so that we strengthen the whole of existence.</p>
<p>The Flair of Failure is a dance that moves and shakes us. Ebbs and flows like a river sometimes moving rapidly with pure focus. At other times meandering off in unknown tributaries discovering new paths. Together all the experiences of our lives create the magical journey. There is no failure. There are only dances to dance on the dance floor of life. Blow out the walls surrounding you and dance.</p>

<p>Last night I took my son to a carnival in town. It&#8217;s not just any carnival. It&#8217;s the Punahou Carnival. The biggest yearly event in Honolulu. Following a lovely dinner with my husband, we drove to the carnival to pick up our son. He entered the car full of excitement and joy, eagerly sharing the highlights of his evening. There are so many things I love about the Aloha spirit. There&#8217;s a bumper sticker, often seen on cars in Hawaii, &#8220;Drive with Aloha.&#8221; Needing to move over two lanes to begin my journey home, I signaled. Instantly, I was provided space to move over, one lane, then two. Waiting at the turn light, we heard the impact. Everything paused. The entire intersection paused. I went into instant &#8220;trauma&#8221; mode. I was out of the car assessing the fallen motorcycle driver, without hesitation.  On our way home, my son had lots of questions. Most of his questions were laden in the details of how the accident occurred. Who&#8217;s fault was it? Was she wearing a helmet? Was she bleeding a lot? Is she going to be okay?  I have pondered the event of last night, realizing something very interesting. What compels us to help another person? What happens when we do? The human experience is not isolated. Each of our actions affects us personally. Beyond our personal experience, it expands and affects those around us. As we become aware of our actions as choices, we change.</p>
<p>You are a radiant being, filled with all the wisdom and brilliance you need to be who you really are. Are you doing what you love? Are you, being who you, want to be? Do you love who you are? If the answer to these questions is yes, I applaud you! Surround yourself with others that support your life. Mentor someone who admires you and is ready to make different choices and live passionately.  If you are ready to find the &#8216;yes&#8217; reach out and ask for the support you need, to move in the direction of &#8216;yes.&#8217;  One step today begins a domino effect in your life.  And always be ready&#8230;.you never know what gifts are waiting for you today!</p>

Along with the New Year, our planet experienced a partial lunar eclipse and the thirteenth full moon of 2009. It is a rare occurrence to have two full moons in a month. The &#8220;Blue Moon&#8221; was a part of the end of 2009 and the ushering in of 2010. What clearing and releasing will you do today?</p>
<p>In a flash of light or any moment, we can choose to have a new awareness. I invite you today to explore beliefs, that you have held true in your life. Ask the questions; Is this belief my own, or have I taken it to be my belief? Is it a belief that I learned from my parents? From my friends? An associate? Do I really need to keep it? What would be different in my life, if I choose a new belief? Am I happy? Do I love myself? Do I love my life?  Do I love ?</p>

<p>How will you remember 2009 and all the years that have passed you by? How will you welcome 2010? What have you done this year that you are proud of? What did you not accomplish this year?</p>
<p>I am reminded of loss and release as the year passes. Knowing it is only a scribed number on a piece of paper or in electronic form. I find myself amazed that we as people and consumers, place such emphasis on dates. The mystery of reaching and aspiring to some date in the future or reminiscing about a day in the past. All the while letting today pass us by. This is a loss so present. So apparent, it is scarcely noticed. There are many books on the topic of living in the present. Including my book, &#8216;BEing the Present&#8217;. We see them. We read them. Are we living in the present?  Like many of my friends and colleagues. I take time at the end of the calendar year to reflect on my accomplishments for the present year. To consider my goals and dreams for the coming year. I am filled with gratitude for the people in my life. The tools and treasures I have found. The things I have shared and passed on.  One of the concepts I share with my coaching clients is the importance of cultivating a sense of gratitude for what is in your life now. Today, what do you have? Health, prosperity, beauty, freedom, love? Find what you have and cultivate a sense of gratitude. For some, this may be a challenge if you have lost loved ones, or suffered in the financial sector of your life, this year. While this may have created stress and pain. Look deeply within your heart, for the smallest speck, the glimmer, and hold a space of gratitude. Cultivating gratitude will open the door to your heart and your dreams. Within you there is a light that shines so brightly. First you must be willing to polish the window that covers the light. This comes from a willingness to be honest with yourself. Really honest. It may hurt at first. Stay with it.  Continue to look and reveal yourself to yourself, you will find confidence and personal power. Be gentle and loving as you explore. Nothing or no thing is ever really lost, it does take a new form. Knowing this helps because there are parts of ourselves we may not like or want to share. There may be shame and disappointment. Know you cannot change the past. It cannot be erased, no matter how much we wish we could do over. Know also, you are not the only one.  Bless the past and let it go. You are who you are now, because of your experiences.  Start by loving yourself now in this present moment and enjoy the journey.</p>

I frequent my local coffee shop to write. To meet people. Talk with strangers and learn about myself. There are lots of choices. What shall I order. Should I have that  on/in a disposable container or re-usable ? Where shall I sit? As I scan the room, I see energy. Some people are alone. Some with clusters of people. Mostly, people are communicating with their computers. Surfing the net. Writing. Conversation sprinkled between sips of beverage, bites of food and curious glances around the room. It is warm here in paradise. Clothing is light and expressive. Across from my table, sit a father and son. The boy, appearing to be about seven, head down occasionally catching a shut eye, and holding onto his book. The father, engaging with his computer, which sits on the chair beside him. Time passes. The boy speaks to the father. The father answers, briefly, and returns to his computer. He moves in rhythm to the music playing in the cafe. Speaking from time to time with the young boy, while scanning the room and returning to his computer. The light above me flickers upon the magical art hanging on the wall. It is a new exhibit of sea creatures in vibrant interpretation. The baristas work steadily brewing coffee. They create &#8216;latte art&#8217; here. I am always inspired by the beauty created in my cup. The boy has gone. The father sits alone, reading a book and glancing frequently around the room. I am surrounded by computers and people, constant stimulation. Within the movement, a sweet vibration fills the space. We are all affected by our environment. The environment outside our bodies and the one inside. There is a hunger within all of us. A hunger to be seen. To be heard. To be loved. Like to boy and the father. First we must be willing to feed the hunger that is within us. Only then will we be ready to feed the world. Gandhi said it best, &#8220;Be the change you wish to see in the world.&#8221; If you want to be seen, see. If you want to be heard, listen. If you want to be touched, touch. If you want to be  loved, love.</p>

<p>&#8216;currency&#8217; , the mode of exchange for almost everything we consume or produce. In most countries we call it, &#8216;money.&#8217; An evaluation of how it all got started is helpful. Having grown up on a family farm where everything was bartered or traded, there was little need for money.  The simple act of trading a bushel of apples for cloth or grain seemed fair and everyone got what they needed to sustain their lives. Families knew who to ask for what they needed. There was great appreciation and respect for the time and energy required to grow or produce goods. Mostly it was food or simple clothing. The things that sustained the community. I learned as I moved from farm life to city life, the importance and power of money.  As consumers, we either want it or we have it.  Gold, the first form of token exchange has long since evolved into paper and coins both having little inherent value. In fact the only value, it the value we personally assign to the pieces of paper and the shiny coins.  As world economies are changing, the importance and value of money is a big topic of discussion.</p>
<p>The question asked more often these days is, &#8216; what&#8217;s really important &#8216; and &#8216; do I really need it.&#8217;  What is important? And what will sustain us now and in the future? We are simple and fragile beings. We occupy a simple and fragile planet earth. Both are dependent upon the other. In different and similar ways. We are consumers of food and water for our survival. The earth is dependent upon us to balance and maintain the ecosystem.  Do you listen to your body? Are you aware of what your body need to maintain and/or restore health?  Emotionally do you feel, explore and heal the emotions that present?  Or do emotions get stuffed and covered up with rationalizations, blaming, anger and food or drink? The body never lies. Look and listen and you will know what to do.  What you see around you, must be familiar, otherwise you could not see it. As we begin to feel and heal ourselves, the world around us will begin to heal.</p>

<p>toilet paper&#8230;.yes toilet paper. Today I walked into the ladies room at a local school, during a sports event. Over the toilet paper roll was a handwritten note&#8230;.&#8221;<em>we are allowed 1 roll of toilet paper a day.&#8221; </em>I&#8217;ve had that experience of going into a public restroom and finding&#8230;.there&#8217;s not paper left on the roll. It can put a pause in your day&#8230;as you search for a solution. There always is a creative solution.</p>
<p>Imagine a world without toilet paper&#8230;in the western world this seems impossible. In a world were there is more than enough, why is there such focus on lack.  It seems to be a theme. What would happen if we all made a conscious choice to look for what we <strong><em>have</em></strong> in our lives.  One way to do this is by journaling or writing. Gratitude journals are a great place to start&#8230;.by writing down what you have in your life, you will begin to see and experience a shift in your point of focus. From a place of lack to a place of plenty. You may find you have so much more than you thought. Changing the focus from lack to sufficiency starts the ball rolling, so to speak.</p>
<p>I have traveled  often, experiencing cultures and countries. In several of my travels, I found myself without toilet paper or running water, and no such thing as &#8220;a ladies room.&#8221;  That is an eye opener.  One of my son&#8217;s is currently living and serving in the Peace Corp in Vanuatu (an Island chain in the South Pacific). He spends his days helping the community with basic needs, finding water and a way to contain it.  He has no electricity, no running water, and no toilet paper. Without those three things, his life takes on a completely different focus.  Community becomes the focus. Sharing what one has with others. Sometimes the simple act of a smile is all it takes.</p>
<p>How can you make a difference in your community or family today?  I think I&#8217;ll start by donating toilet paper to the school.</p>

<p>Movement is Medicine. There is plenty of press lately around the flu. Where&#8217;s the press about the importance of maintaining health. Our first and greatest defense against illness, is and always has been&#8230;maintaining health. More simply stated; eat well, sleep well and exercise. Yes! Exercise is so vital, and yet often over looked on the road to maintaining health. Here&#8217;s the question: What is exercise? What is it to you? Everyone has a different idea about what it means to exercise. To this question&#8230;search within you to find the answer. Start where you are now. If you don&#8217;t currently exercise. Do something&#8230;do anything. One of the most important and often forgotten exercises is in the way we breath. Did you know 5-10 minutes a day of focused deep breathing exercises will begin to charge and change your body in positive ways.  If you aren&#8217;t sure where to start&#8230;start by taking a deep breath, as deep as you can, and then&#8230;..just a little more&#8230;hold it for 10 seconds, or as long as you can and let it out slowly, to the count of 10 if possible&#8230;and repeat. If exercise is something you do already, add a different routine. This is important, because our bodies, like our minds can become adjusted to certain activities. By changing it, we stimulate our bodies and our minds in new and healthy promoting ways.</p>
<p>The bottom line, just move, move anything that you can move as much as you can, as often as you can.</p>

<p>Did you know, your mind holds one thought at a time. Are you choosing a good thought or a less than good thought? Are you thinking about how full your glass is or how empty it is? Media surrounds us, 24/7 if we invite it in, leaving little time for silence in which we hear our own voice. Our own truth. Our own thoughts. How often are the thoughts you allow into your consciousness, your thoughts versus the thoughts of your parents, your friends, spouse or yes, the media? I&#8217;ve found over and over again how easy it can be to be swayed by the thoughts outside. How often do you find yourself watching TV only to be enticed by a commercial to rise up from your seat and search the pantry for something to satisfy your&#8230;hunger? Ask yourself one simple question&#8230;.Am I eating because I am truly hungry? Or, am I bored, sad, angry, hungry for a hug, or love? The emotion you are experiencing when you choose to eat, is the emotion you are taking into your body. This is a very deep experience and ultimately affects the way in which your body incorporates the food energy into your body.</p>
<p>Your thoughts hold power. The power to feel good or bad, happy or sad. Choose well, live well.</p>

<p>I woke up with a line playing in my head from my childhood&#8230;&#8221;On with the show this is it&#8221; a line from Bugs Bunny the cartoon. This is our show, this is our life. Our world is shifting and along with our world, we are asked to reflect and re-visit the way in which we interact with our bodies &amp; nature. Vibrationally, everything we consume and everything we think has a resonance in our bodies. This has always been true. Finally the awareness is dawning for us. How perfect! If you are willing to accept the power of your ability to attract health. Your ability to change the body you are in. Did you know it takes approximately 7 years for every cell in your body to be replaced. Many cells replace daily. What we do today is cumulative.</p>
